Uses For use in patching nail holes, countersunk primed nail heads, shallow hammer marks, small cracks and other minor defacements on a variety of wood surfaces. Often used to repair cabinets, picture frames, furniture and wooden windows.
Limitations Not for use on any surface other than wood. Keep from freezing. Do not thin with any solvents. Do not add whiting or colorants. Not for use below grade or under water.
Surface Preparation Surface must be firm, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust, grease, oil, mildew, wax and loose material. Sand any glossy areas to assure maximum adhesion. Dust the surface with clean, dry paint brush. Remove residue sanding dust with an ALLPRO tack cloth. Use only on clean, dry, primed surfaces. New or unpainted wood should be primed prior to use.
Application

Upon opening the container, pour off protective layer of water. Dab excess moisture with cloth or rag. IMPORTANT: When not in use, keep putty level in can and top off with ordinary tap water. Place lid on tightly to keep material from drying inside container.

ALLPRO Painter's Putty should be applied at temperatures above 55°F, to clean, dry surfaces. Roll putty with hand in the shape of a point, then press firmly into hole with thumb and forefinger. Holding a clean, dry putty knife in the opposite hand, quickly cut off material in one motion. When properly performed, the cut should leave the patched area smooth and filled to capacity, thereby eliminating the need to sand. Larger holes and cracks may require more than one application to obtain this result. Once putty has been applied, allow it to dry to form a protective skin (top drying). For nail holes and other minor surface defacements, this process takes place in approximately 24 hours.

NOTE: Top drying may be slowed by cold, damp weather, plus size and depth of fill. Do not touch putty once placed in hole. This action may break the thin surface membrane which has has formed. If applying lacquer topcoats or oxygen inhibitive coatings (e.g. urethanes & epoxies), putty should be allowed to dry a minimum of 80 hours. Once sufficient drying time has elapsed, prime and paint, particularly when product is being used on exterior surfaces. Areas patched which are going to be top coated with a gloss or a semi-transparent coating should be sealed.

Clean Up Cleanup immediately after use with mineral spirits. Remove smears with mineral spirits before dried. Follow all manufacturer's directions for proper use and handling of solvent products. Do not use solvent to clean product off skin.
Disposal Unused material can contain trace quantities of ketoxime based chemical compounds which may cause adverse effects to the environment if disposed of improperly. Place empty containers in normal refuse for disposal. Contact your local sanitation department or household hazardous waste coordinator for information concerning possible reuse or disposal of unused solvent-containing adhesives and/or sealants.
Limited Warranty This product is warranted to perform satisfactorily when used in accordance with the directions. This limited warranty only applies to residential use and damages including consequential damage and other remedies are excluded. Liability shall be limited to the replacement of the material or refund the purchase price. No other warranties apply, including fitness for particular purpose.
