Limitations Tinting not recommended. Do not tint. Thinning is not advised.

Surface Preparation Surface to be coated must be clean, sound, dry and free of rust, grease, oil, mildew and loose particles prior to application. Sand glossy surfaces for better adhesion.

Previously Varnished Surfaces: On previously varnished surfaces in good condition, sand old finish thoroughly with the grain using a medium grit sandpaper and remove all dust with a tack cloth. Do not sand down to bare wood. On previously varnished surfaces in poor condition, remove the old finish with a varnish remover; clean all traces of varnish remover with a suitable solvent; sand down to bare wood. Remove all dust with a tack cloth.

On Bare Wood: Sand entire surface thoroughly smooth with a coarse sandpaper then use less abrasive grits to smooth the surface and remove sanding scratches. If necessary, use a stearate free paste wood filler on open grained wood. Wipe clean with a tack cloth to remove sanding residue. Metal Surfaces: Metal surfaces must be cleaned thoroughly of dirt, dust, rust, grease and oil.

Application Mix thoroughly before use. DO NOT SHAKE VARNISH. Apply when temperatures range between 50× F and 85× F, and the weather is stable. Avoid applying in early morning or late afternoon when working outdoors because the wet film may be affected by moisture and dew. May be applied with a brush or spray. Apply 3 - 4 coats on unvarnished surfaces and 2 - 3 coats on previously varnished surfaces to obtain a high gloss, smooth finish. Sand between coats with a fine sandpaper, wiping clean with a tack cloth.

Clean Up Clean up spills and spatters immediately. Clean painting tools with mineral spirits. Follow manufacturer's recommendations for thorough spray equipment maintenance.

Disposal Contains organic solvents which may cause adverse effects to the environment if disposed of improperly. Place empty containers in normal refuse for disposal. Contact your local sanitation department or household hazardous waste coordinator for information concerning possible reuse or disposal of unused solvent-containing adhesives and/or sealants.
