POLYURETHANE CLEAR WOOD VARNISHES are tough, durable, clear coatings
especially formulated with premium quality polyurethane resins to provide
maximum protection on interior wood surfaces. Excellent for use on surfaces

heavy foot traffic. Available in Satin and Gloss finishes. |
| Prominent Features |
|
| Uses | Ideal
for use in residential, commercial offices, institutions and light duty
industrial applications. Perfect for use on floors, trim, furniture, paneling,
doors, bar-tops or cabinets. Ideal for surfaces that require a wear resistant
coating. Can be used on bare wood and over most stains. |
| Limitations | Do
not tint. Thinning is not advised. This varnish should not be used over
shellac products, alcohol soluble sealers, lacquer type sealers, lacquers
nor over sanding sealers or paste wood fillers containing stearates. Do
not apply at temperatures below 50ºF. |
| Surface Preparation | All
surfaces must be clean, sound, dry and free of rust, grease, oil, mildew
and loose particles before painting. Sand glossy surfaces for better adhesion.
Sand with the grain and remove all dust. If necessary, use a stearate
free paste wood filler on open grained wood. When a sealer is required
use a stearate free sanding sealer such as ALLPRO POLYURETHANE SANDING
SEALER. On old painted or varnished surfaces in poor condition, remove
the old finish with a varnish remover; clean all traces of varnish remover
with a suitable solvent; patch or seal if necessary and sand lightly.
Metal surfaces must be cleaned thoroughly of dirt, dust, lint, grease
and oil. Use an ALLPRO Tack Cloth for removing last traces of dust or lint. |
| Application | Mix
thoroughly before using. May be applied with a clean brush or spray. If
spraying, be sure spray equipment is properly cleaned and functioning.
Flow on full even coat with the grain and avoid excessive brushing. Allow
a minimum of 18 hours drying time between coats, and 24 hours for complete
dry. Re-coat work must be done within 24 - 48 hours. Sand surface lightly
between coats. For maximum protection on all exterior work, apply 3 coats
of varnish. Two coats provides adequate protection for interior work.
Three coats may be applied for greater depth of luster and higher gloss. |
| Clean Up | Clean
up spills immediately. Clean painting tools with mineral spirits. Follow
manufacturer's recommendations for thorough spray equipment maintenance. |
| Disposal | Contains
organic solvents which may cause adverse effects to the environment if
disposed of improperly. Place empty containers in normal refuse
for disposal. Contact your local sanitation department or household hazardous
waste coordinator for information concerning possible reuse or disposal
of unused solvent-containing adhesives and/or sealants. |
